This recipe was inspired by Frankie Gaw’s recipe for steamed eggs. I absolutely recommend checking their website and instagram out for some inspiration.
Steamed Egg
1 whole egg
3/4 cup veggie broth (you )
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon mirin
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
Toppings
1/2 scallion (thinly sliced, green part only)
1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds
1/4 teaspoon chili oil
Instructions
1. Boil water in a pot/wok and turn to low once boiling. Place steamer on top.
2. Whisk egg, broth, salt, mirin, and soy sauce until fully incorporated.
3. Pour the mixture through a thin strainer into the soup bowl you plan on steaming the egg in.
4. Place your bowl into the steamer and steam for roughly 15 minutes (+/- a minute).
5. Once your eggs are ready, remove from steamer and garnish with toppings.
